Overview
E-waste is an emerging global environmental issue that is steadily gaining prominence. This growing concern is due to rapidly growing Waste electrical and Electronic Equipment quantities, a trend that is expected to continue persistently for some time due to quick emergence of novel technologies and inexpensive electrical and electronic products.
As a result, training is necessary to help the community and organizations become informed on how to handle e-waste and the advantages and drawbacks of doing so for the environment.
In compliance with NEMA waste standards that are safe for both the environment and public health, ICT Authority, through the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy, provides the services of raising awareness (training) and safely disposing of electrical and electronic trash (eWaste). As a key core value, the ICT Authority Centre operates in an environmentally friendly manner. We are dedicated to disposing of electrical and electronic trash in a way that is effective, safe, and responsible.

Course Objectives
The training includes the following;
Understanding E-Waste and defining what is an eWaste is as well as highlighting the classifying them in terms of Hazardous waste and non-Hazardous waste.
Defining different categories of the eWaste
From the categories how can we define the source of ewaste, and at what point do they become an ewaste.
Highlighting different methods of disposing eWaste procedure including reuse, recycling.
What are the Hazardous elements that are in ewaste, what are the effects of these toxins when released to the environment.
We define the processing of collecting ewaste, how to transport ewaste to avoid breakage, testing the ewaste and sorting and storing ewaste before dismantling.
The steps to follow when dismantling the ewaste, what are the approved tools and equipment, the levels of dismantling, sorting and storing the dismantled components.
Some of the benefits and impacts to the socialites and organizations including saving space, the reuse of some of the components.
